Do Indians need visa to visit Myanmar ?

The answer is : Yes. All Indian travelers either for tourist purpose or business purpose, you need to have visa or visa approval letter before entering the country. 
For tourist visa, visitors can stay for 4 weeks while business visa allows you to stay up to 10 weeks.
There are 2 official ways to obtain Myanmar visa for Indian citizens : apply through Embassy in New Dehli or apply online for Myanmar Evisa. 

How to Apply for Myanmar Visa ?

 Applying Online is the easiest and quickest option if you travel by air and arriving at one of these international airports : Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Yangon. Depending on the workload of the embassy and the visa paying option ( ordinary or express), you can have visa result from 1 day to 2 weeks.  

Can tourist visa be used for Border Crossing

So far, India and Myanmar only open 1 official border gate : Tamu - Morel. To cross the border gate, only visa issued by embassy is accepted. Accordingly, you need to apply through Myanmar Embassy either in New Dheli or other countries then having visa in hand before crossing the border checkpoint.
