Burma Trekking Destinations

Burma diverse nature means there are lots of trekking trails from south to north. While Shan state is famous for both breathtaking routes and off beaten track spots, you will find a large number of trekking destinations for some exceptional experiences :



Trek in Chin State
Chin state remains mysterious as it is for decades. What draws trekkers to the area is not merely the stunning mountain vistas, the ethnic minority with rich tradition of tattooing their face is so photogenic too. 
The most famous peak is Victoria mountain which located inside Na Mat Taung National Park while for 4-5 days trek, there are chances to try different ways near Mindat town.
For intrepid travelers, the new tour linking Bagan and Chin state which lasts for 10 days is very attracting.

Hsipaw Trekking
This lush district of Shan state offers jungle, green local plantation and importantly riches of Shan history. Your experience in Hsipaw comes from friendly local encounters, a great time to observe how they make tea and other traditional workshop.
Sunrise from mountain top is very photogenic then day trek showcases the contrast of nature like no where else.
Please prepare at least 3 days for a trek in Hsipaw and 2 more days to travel from Mandalay and return. It is best combined with Pyin Oo Lwin, one of the most intriguing towns studded with British villas and maisons.

Kalaw to Inle 
It is no doubt that Kalaw to Inle route is often recommended by local Myanmar Tour Operator as it is easy for onward travel inside the country. Hiking options vary from 2 to 4 days traversing fascinating villages, market and monastery. The trail is not so steep and often descending which creates the pleasure when you head to the waterway.
