MYANMAR GEOGRAPHY
Myanmar, a republic in South-East Asia, bounded on the south by the Andaman Sea and Bengal Bay; on the west by Bangladesh, and India; the north by Tibet Autonomous Region of China; on the east by China, Laos, and Thailand; . Burma is officially known as the Union of Myanmar. The coastal region is known as Lower Myanmar, while the interior region is known as Upper Myanmar. The total area of the country is 676,552 square km.
A mountain complex and the valley of the Irrawaddy river are the dominant topographical features of the country. The mountains of the northern margin rise to 5881 meters (19,296 ft) atop Hkakabo Razi, the highest one in Southeast Asia. The Bilauktaung range, the southern extension of the Shan Plateau, lies along the boundary between southwestern Thailand and southeastern Lower Myanmar. The Shan Plateau, originating in China, has an average elevation of about 910 meters (about 3000 ft). The two other mountain systems have northern to southern axes. The Arakan Yoma range, with peaks reaching more than 2740 meters (about 9000 ft), forms a barrier between Myanmar and the subcontinent of India.
Generally narrow and elongated in the interior, the central lowlands attain a width of about 320km (about 200 miles) across the Ayarwaddy-Sittaung delta. The delta plains, extremely fertile and economically the most important section of the country, cover an area of about 46,620 sq. km (18,000 sq. ml.). Both the Arakan (in the northwest) and the Tenasserim (in the southwest) coasts of myanmar are rocky and fringed with islands. The country has a number of excellent natural harbours.

Border crossing
Established along the 6000km long border, numberous of entry points between Myanmar and neiboughrs. The travel into Myanmar from the border towns is generally only allowed with a government permit and with an agent. Most popularly known check-points can be listed are Mae Sai and Ranong between Thailand and Burma, Tapu Moreh with India, Ruili with China.

1930km coastline length, fronts on the Indian Ocean's Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, Major port facilities administered by the MPA include: Myanmar Port Authority,Yangon. Asia World Port Terminal, located in Ahlone Township of Yangon. Other wellknowns are Bassein, Moulmein, Sittwe, Thilawa.
International airports
Burmese goverment's most recent announcement disclosed a plan of using Mandalay, Yangon, and Nay Pyi Taw international airports to receive 99.6% of visitors who enter Myanmar by flight until 2021. Only these 3 airports are authorized to accept visa on arrival (e-visa) .
VISA TO MYANMAR
A valid visa is required for visitor who want to enter Burma either with tourist or business purpose. To cross borders, entrance via seaports, personal jets you must apply with our embassy for a visa stamp on your passport before arrival. E-visa or visa on arrival are only used for visitor who enter Myanmar by flights.
