Burma Visa from Thailand

Thailand shares both land and sea borders with Myanmar. The travel between two countries hence are very popular. While Thailand has very easy visa policy visa, Myanmar is also improving the system both through embassy and online to allow visitors have visa faster and faster.

Here is some useful ways for applying Myanmar Visa catagorized for foreigners and Thailand citizens :

1. For Thailand Citizen

According to the mutual agreement of Myanmar/ Burma and Thailand Government, Thailand Citizens can travel to Myanmar for 14 days without visa.
If you travel longer than 14 days then you can apply visa online for Evisa or visit Embassy in Bangkok for direct application.


2. For Foreigners

Notes :
- The embassy has certain holidays including Thai holiday, public holidays as well Myanmar holiday. Basically, visitors need to present on working day for visa. No visa can be proccessed at weekend ( in case of weekend, check our fast Myanmar visa service which is applicable for weekend as well )
- You need to make sure your passpost has at least 6 month validity starting from your tentative date to enter Burma. 
- Prepare well your photo, passport, some additional like flight confirmation before your visit.

Visa online works for border crossing travelers since late 2018. You can get visa approval document then have a stamp at the border gates like Myawaddy, Tachileik, etc.
