Moreh - Tamu is the only border gate that allows visitors, traders and holiday makers to cross from one country to another between India and Myanmar, others are not opened so far ( 2017 )
Tamu is a small town in Sagaing Division - Myanmar. You need a visiting permit to stay in this town issued by the government.
Moreh is located in the Tengnoupal district of the Indian state of Manipur. Foreigner do not need permit to visit this area since 2017 )
You will need both Myanmar Tourist Visa and Indian Visa sticked your passport to travel through the checkpoint. Visa on arrival is not available here.
Visa and PermitĀ

It is compulsory to have a visa stamped on your passport before you proceed to the immigrantion counter.
Regarding the Tamu visiting permit, you need to contact an local travel agency in Myanmar who is legally registered for their tourism license. This company can help you to obtain a permit to enter Tamu. You will be required to provide the following information in details : hotel reservation, travel routes that you will take in Myanmar, exact date of entry and exiting the country.
