More Border Gates to Open for visitors in Myanmar

Update travel news about Myanmar Border Gates which will open for visitors to cross the land from Thailand to Myanmar

Muse-Shwe Li Border Gate is announced by be upgraded to be a new tourist entry point for foreigners who wants to cross the border from Thailand to Myanmar.

There are 16 border gates so far in Myanmar sharing the frontier lines between Myanmar and its neighboring countries but many of them is still not accessible or has limited access.

Myanmar’s immigration minister Khin Yi said beside the Muse-Shwe Li border, the other checking point on Myanmar- Thailand line, including Tachileik-Mae Sai, Myawady-Mae Sot, Kawthoung-Ranong and Htee Khee-Sunaron – have also been upgraded as official international entry points for international visitors allowing them to travel freely to other destinations in the country and exit through a different checkpoint if required.

Provided you have a valid passport and pre-arranged visa either from Myanmar Embassy or Authority, you can freely visit most of Myanmar`s destinations.

So far, there are three international airports in Myanmar functioned to welcome visitors with visa on arrival: Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw. There are more countries have signed visa exemption agreement with Myanmar government including Vietnam, Cambodia and Phillippines.

Last year, Myanmar fully opened four checkpoints on the Myanmar-Thai border, namely Tachileik- Mae Sai, Myawaddy-Mae Sot, Tiki-Sunarong and Kawthoung-Ranong.
These days, travelers can enter the country by one port and exit by another which enable chances to experience more places in Myanmar.
